Early morning wake up for a drive to t-town for Route 66 1/2. Nice to have the whole family along for company & support. 58 temp, 100% hum, 57dp, s wind +15. Met RL @ the usual spot for pre-ace chat & warm up. Wasn't ideal weather conditions for a hilly course but it was a lot better than Tulsa Run. 1.25 w/u with run drills. Made our way to the corral with plenty of time to spare. Felt really good after warm up . Lots of excitement in the air with sum pre race hype and good vibes. Saw lots of familiar faces. Before we new it the starting gun sounded & we were off. Seemed like most runners were going out way too fast. I just kept my pace that I had planed & that was to run a sub 1:30. Figured sooner or later they would come back to me and they did. The race flew by and before I knew it we were already going through 10k. I felt really good considering the weather conditions & the hilly course. There were a lot of runners struggling @ this point. So glad I didn't go out too fast like some did. From mile 11 it was a struggle but I managed to fight through it & keep on pace to the finish. New PR for my 1/2. Things just fell together today. Very happy with the way I ran! Feels good when you achieve your goals. RL had a great day too. He ran a 1:25 & I think he won his AG. He has taught me so much in the time we have been running together. I don't think I would be where I'm @ without him. Looking forward to the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up. May jump in a 5k next week. Time to recover & get back after it next week.

Great race and great job not going out too fast on the hills! I was probably one of those who came back to you...Great PR!

Just a little 27-min PR! Never cease to impress me with what you are accomplishing in 1st year of training to compete at higher level. Your upside is tremendous and just wait until you get all these "little" goals out of the way (sub-40, sub 1:30, sub-20, etc.) and your mind is going to be set free; then you are going to blow away these new PRs. Congrats on your accomplishment!
